What sort of imagery did Hosea favor in his prophecies?

He used many images that evoked scenes of family life. Hosea referred to God as a faithful husband and a loving parent. God said, “I led them with cords of human kindness, with bands of love. I was to them like those who lift infants to their cheeks. I bent down and fed them.” (NRSV, Hosea 11:4) Also, Hosea used agricultural imagery. God said, “For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind.” (NRSV, Hosea 8:7)
