What was Peter’s advice on how to be an active believer?

Peter wanted believers to set all their hope on Jesus. He urged believers to resist the temptation to return to their previous ways. He wrote: “Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.” (NIV, I Peter 2:1) The most important thing, however, was to “love each other deeply.” (NIV, I Peter 4:8)
