What was the Israelites’ plan for conquering Jericho?

By the time the Israelites arrived in Jericho, the city was around seven thousand years old. It was an impressive, wealthy city on a hill. It had strong fortifications. To this day, Jericho is the oldest settlement known.

God gave them the idea of marching around the city once a day for six days in a row. On the seventh day, the Israelites marched around the city seven times. Israelite musicians blew trumpets, but the rest of the people did not say a word. On the seventh day after the seventh lap, the Israelites shouted, and the protective wall around the city crumbled to the ground.
