The incense altar was made of acacia wood overlaid with pure gold. It measured about 17.5″ × 17.5″ × 35″. Horns and two gold rings were made in one piece with it. Poles of acacia wood overlaid with gold slid through the rings. In this way the incense altar was carried from place to place. Aaron offered incense on it every morning. The incense was made of stacte and galbanum (both aromatic resins), onycha (a perfume from a mollusk found in the Red Sea), other spices, and myrrh. This recipe was holy. The incense was not to be used anywhere except in the Court of the Tabernacle.
