According to the interpretation God gave to Daniel, the gold head of the statue represented Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom. The other parts of the statue, in order of decreasing monetary value, represented kingdoms to come after the fall of Babylon. The feet of iron and clay represented a split kingdom. The mountain represented God’s coming kingdom that would surpass them all.
