What was the significance of the Transfiguration?

The Transfiguration showed the disciples the completion of Old Testament prophecy. The disciples saw Moses the lawgiver, Elijah the prophet who foretold Jesus’ coming, and Jesus the fulfillment of the law and prophecy.
