Which best-selling series of novels depicts events related to the Rapture?

The Left Behind series (1995–2007). Written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins, this series deals with the people who were “left behind” on Earth after the Rapture. New believers (Rayford and his daughter, Chloe) spearhead an effort to prepare people for the coming Tribulation. All the while, they have to deal with Nicolae Jetty, the new secretary-general of the United Nations, who, unbeknownst to most people, is the Antichrist. The series is based on a dispensationalist interpretation of the Bible, a set of theories regarding God’s relationship with people, and the order and nature of events during the end times. The books in this series prompted rounds of debate on whether the events depicted were theologically accurate.
