Samson. In addition to the handful of early black-and-white silent films made about Samson and his fatal flirtation with Delilah, the ill-fated romance received full-color treatment in later films. In addition to the Cecil B. DeMille version in 1949, there was a made-for-TV version. Made in 1984, Samson and Delilah once again featured Victor Mature. In the 1949 version, Mature played the long-haired, lovelorn strongman. In the 1984 version, he played the role of Samson’s father, Manoah. Another made-for-TV version, Samson and Delilah (1996), featured model and actress Elizabeth Hurley as the sultry temptress.
