Who was Habakkuk?

Habakkuk, whose name means “embracer” or “wrestler,” was a prophet who lived in the northern kingdom of Judah around 600 B.C.E., just before the Babylonian invasion in 597 B.C.E. Most likely, he was active during the reigns of Jehoiakim and Jehoiachin.
