Who was Haggai?

Haggai, whose name means “festive,” prophesied to the exiles after they returned to Israel. When Cyrus, the king of Persia, conquered Babylon, he issued a decree saying that the Israelites could return to their homeland. Haggai’s book dates from about 520 B.C.E.
