Who was Zacchaeus?

Zacchaeus was a wealthy tax collector. When Jesus went to Jericho, Zacchaeus tried to get a glimpse of Jesus. Because it was so crowded—and because Zacchaeus was short—he climbed a tree to get a glimpse of Jesus.
