There were laws regarding white, eruptive places on the skin, laws dealing with rashes on the skin. There were laws on dealing with menstruation and baldness. To modern-day readers, some of the laws might seem nitpicky. However, at the time, all of the laws were necessary to ensure the sustained physical and spiritual welfare of the Israelites. God was in the process of taking an uneducated, irreligious people, and making a new, godly nation out of them.
