Are flavonoids good for humans?

Yes, humans benefit from flavonoids, such as those found in dark chocolate, walnuts, strawberries, cinnamon, and blueberries. It is thought that the flavonoids all may lower cholesterol levels; in addition, some flavonoids even have health-benefitting antioxidant properties. And it’s not only humans: The flavonoids in fruit attract animals that eat the fruit and thereby disperse the plant’s seeds, while still other flavonoids influence flower coloration that attracts insect pollinators.
