No, but although redwoods extend somewhat into southern Oregon, the vast majority of giant redwoods are found in California. The closest relative to this form of redwood is the Japanese cedar found in regions of Asia. This tree grows to a height of 150 feet (45.7 meters) with a circumference of 25 feet (7.6 meters). The genus Sequoia has two species, which are commonly known as the redwood and big tree. Both can be seen in either Redwood National Park or Sequoia National Park. At the latter park, the most impressive tree is known as the General Sherman Tree at 272 feet (83 meters) tall (see below); other trees found in Sequoia National Park exceed 300 feet (91.4 meters) in height, but are more slender.
