What are nonspecific defenses? |
Nonspecific defenses do not differentiate between various invaders, and depending on the organism, include barriers such as skin, hide, and the mucous membrane lining the respiratory and digestive tracts, phagocytic white blood cells, and certain chemicals. The nonspecific defenses are the first to respond when a foreign substance enters the body.
