Organelles—frequently called “little organs”—are found in all eukaryotic cells; they are specialized, membrane-bound, cellular structures that perform a specific function. For example, organelles include the nucleus, mitochondria, chloroplasts, endoplasmic reticulum, and Golgi apparatus.
