What are the four levels of structural organization in animals?

Every animal has four levels of hierarchical organization: cell, tissue, organ, and organ system. Each level in the hierarchy is of increasing complexity, and all organ systems work together to form an organism. (For more about cells and tissues, see the chapter “Cellular Basics.”)
