A polymer is any of two or more compounds that are formed by the process of polymerization, or the process of changing the molecular arrangement of a compound to form new compounds. These new compounds have the same percent composition as the original, but they have a greater molecular weight and different properties. For example, acetylene and benzene are have the same chemical composition, but different weights and properties.
