What is so good about fish oil?

Fish oils, extracted from species such as mackerel, salmon, anchovy, sardines, and tuna, are excellent sources of the essential omega-3 fatty acids—however, they are not the only possible source. Nuts and seeds also provide omega-3 fatty acids. Nutritionists recommend that these fatty acids be acquired through a healthy and diverse diet rather than by taking nutrient supplements.
