What wood is used to make baseball bats?

Wooden baseball bats are made from white ash (Fraxinus Americana). This wood is ideal for producing bats because it is tough and light and can thus help drive a ball a great distance. A tree roughly seventy-five years old and 15.7 inches (40 centimeters) in diameter can produce approximately sixty bats.
