Was there any good news for the Confederacy in April 1862?

Only in the negative sense. The Confederates could claim to have restricted George B. McClellan and the Army of the Potomac to the lower part of the James Peninsula. In terms of positive news, there was virtually nothing to report. And as bad as things were, they were about to get worse, from the Confederate point of view.
