What is another way to estimate a dinosaur’s life span? |
Another way to estimate a dinosaur’s life span is to compare it to the known life spans of living animals, based on body size. In general, larger animals tend to live longer than smaller ones. Using this method, the life span of very large sauropods like Apatosaurus and Diplodocus was probably on the order of 100 years. Smaller dinosaurs would likely have had shorter life spans.
