What was unusual about the teeth of a Tyrannosaurus rex?

The teeth of a Tyrannosaurus rex were unusual in their shape. Most carnivorous dinosaurs had somewhat flat teeth, similar to razor-edged knife blades. However, a Tyrannosaurus rex had teeth shaped like giant spikes—almost like large, sharp bananas with serrations.
