A two-ton dinosaur pelvis dating from the upper Jurassic period has been discovered at a dig site near Lourinha, Portugal, located about 37 miles (60 kilometers) north of Lisbon. Evidence of dinosaurs is prevalent in this area of central Portugal, with many recent discoveries of tracks and skeletons. Dinosaur eggs with fossilized embryos have also been found here. Paleontologists believe the pelvis came from a sauropod about 66 feet (20 meters) tall and weighing 20 tons (18 metric tons). This pelvic bone discovery will help shed light on the posture of dinosaurs.
