Who was Barnum Brown? |
Barnum Brown (1873–1963)—named after the famed circus showman P.T. Barnum—was perhaps the greatest collector of dinosaur fossils ever known. Based out of the American Museum of Natural History, Brown traversed the country, bargaining and trading for fossils of both dinosaur and other species. One of his best dinosaur discoveries was made in 1910: several hind feet from a group of Albertosaurus collected in Dry Island Buffalo Jump Provincial Park in central Alberta, Canada.
