Dinosaur Babies

Have any dinosaur eggs been found in a dinosaur’s belly area?

Yes, dinosaur eggs have been found in the belly area of a fossilized dinosaur mother that is thought to be a two-legged oviraptor from China that lived between 100 to 65 million years ago. In 2005, scientists announced they had found a fossil of the first dinosaur eggs—complete with shells—in the body of the mother. Some researchers believe this shows how some dinosaurs laid their eggs in a clutch, and in a series of sittings (similar to modern birds), rather than all at once the way crocodiles and other living reptiles do.
