How much rice does China produce?

China is the world’s leading rice producer and is responsible for about one-third of total rice production in the world. The country produces about 188.5 million metric tons of rice each year. India, the next biggest producer, produces about 142 million metric tons. Ninety percent of the rice in the world is produced in Asia.
