What is a Mediterranean climate

A Mediterranean climate is a climate similar to the one found along the Mediterranean Sea: hot and dry in the summer and warm and wet in the winter. Areas that are renowned for having Mediterranean climates but are not near the Mediterranean Sea are California and Chile.
