What is the deepest lake in the United States?

Crater Lake in Oregon, lying within the collapsed crater of an ancient volcano, is the nation’s deepest lake at 1,932 feet (589 meters). Crater Lake has no feeder streams—it is filled solely by precipitation.



The biologically rich Everglades marshes in Florida cover over 2,000 square miles (5,180 square kilometers) of land, but this is only about 20 percent of this endangered ecosystem’s original area.
