Alaska has more than 5,500 miles (8,851 kilometers) of coastline. The next largest is actually Michigan, which has 3,288 miles (5,291 kilometers) of coastline, far longer than both Florida (1,197 miles [1,926 kilometers]) and California (840 miles [1,352 kilometers]).
