Who was Muhammed

The prophet Muhammed was the founder of Islam. He was born in Mecca in 571 and fled to Medina later in life. According to the Islamic religion, he received prophecies from God, which were subsequently written in the Koran, the holy book of Islam. Muhammed’s death in 632 C.E. led to the expansion of Islam around Eurasia.
