What is Golgotha?

Golgotha is the Hebrew name for calvary, the site on a hillside outside ancient Jerusalem where Jesus Christ (c. 6 B.C.–C. A.D. 30) was crucified. Though the exact site is unknown, it is believed to be where the church of the Holy Sepulcher is located.
