What is Title IX?

Considered one of the biggest successes of the modern women’s movement, Title IX is part of the Education Amendments of 1972, federal legislation that prohibits any school or college that receives federal funds from discriminating on the basis of sex. The law applies to all aspect of education, including admission, athletics, and curriculum.
