In an interview with CNBC, Vanguard Group founder Bogle stated that when he was a child, he worked and saved in order to get items that he wanted, such as a new (used) bike, so his pants would not get caught in the bike chain. “When I was a kid, you saved and saved, and then got what you wanted.”
