No-Load and Loaded Mutual Funds

What are “loaded funds”?

Loaded funds are mutual funds that charge a fee for purchasing (front loading) or selling (back-end loading) shares in the fund. They have the highest expenses associated with them, and are offered by brokers who receive commissions on your transactions. Because of the fees associated, an investor in loaded mutual funds may experience lower returns.
