While most businesses celebrate their fifth birthday and beyond, some businesses can and do fail for a variety of reasons, including: lack of experience by owners and employees; insufficient capital; bad location decision; poor inventory management; too much capital spent on fixed assets; insufficient access to credit; withdrawing too much capital; failing to keep up with growth; competitive business climate; and poor sales.
