What are two of the oldest mutual funds?

In 1924, a private investment fund was started in Boston, calling itself the Massachusetts Investors Trust. It later offered its shares to the public in 1928, and today it still exists as MFS Investment Management. Another venerable firm, Putnam Investments, began in 1937, and still exists today.
