What can I learn about my investment behavior, depending on my time horizon?

A 1999 study conducted by Schooley and Worden in Financial Analysts Journal asserted that people with longer time horizons, or long-term investors willing to invest for at least five years, have portfolios consisting of 50% equities. By contrast, investors with shorter time frames—perhaps one year or less—have, on average, portfolios consisting of only 12% equities.
