What constitutes the Conference Board’s Leading Economic Index?

The Conference Board creates and publishes its own economic index that comprises ten indicators: Average Weekly Hours (manufacturing), Average Weekly Jobless Claims, Manufacturers’ New Orders for Consumer Goods/Materials, Vendor Performance (delivery time), Manufacturers’ New Orders for Non-Defense Capital Goods, Building Permits, S&P 500 Stock Index, Money Supply (M2), Interest Rate Spread, and the Index of Consumer Expectations.
