Avoiding Scams

What does FINRA recommend we do to avoid scams and fraud related to our investments?

In order to avoid becoming a victim of fraud, FINRA recommends that you avoid any investments that have intense sales pitches that make exaggerated claims about the potential for returns and profits. FINRA also recommends that you avoid any investments in which you are pressured to buy by a certain time. Never send money to an individual or firm based upon a telephone call or an e-mail about an investment.
