Financial Planners

What is the difference between a financial planner and an investment adviser?

An investment adviser may offer advice on the many investment choices available to you, both from the company for which he works, as well as other choices outside the firm. A financial planner is a generalist who is experienced at looking at the big picture of your financial health and your entire portfolio (both assets and liabilities). He can guide you on the proper choices that will allow you to reach your short-term and long-term financial goals.
