What organizations provide accreditation to stockbrokers?

Several different organizations provide membership, training, and accreditation for stock-brokers, so we can be safer while investing. The key organizations include The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), previously known as the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), and the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC).
