Teaching Children About Investing

Why should we not think about investing only as a subject for adults?

Many people erroneously think that investing—or any financial discussion—is most appropriate when a person is technically an adult. But experts believe we are doing a disservice to our children by waiting until they reach age 18 before we begin teaching them about investing. Many kids can understand basic financial concepts much earlier in life, so it is best to expose them to financial and investing concepts when they are quite young.
