There are sufficient examples of this theme in world mythology to suggest that it is significant. The war in heaven can be a struggle between a creator and a trickster as in many African myths, or an all-out war such as the one in the Abrahamic tradition between God and his good angels on one hand and Satan and the bad angels on the other.
