What are examples of modern scientific myths that “explain” the world?

Many scientists use narratives in what they call “thought experiments” to explain difficult concepts of reality. Three of the most famous of these experiments are Schrödinger’s Cat, the Twin Paradox, and the Gaia Hypothesis.
