There are several examples of creation by goddesses beginning with the Sumero-Babylonian Nammu-Tiamat and the Egyptian Neith. Gaia in Greece and Izanami in Japan are female creators, as are several African goddesses, including Njambi, Mawu, and Woyengi, as well as the Aztec Omecihuatl.
