Who are the Polynesians?

The native peoples of the Pacific Islands, such as Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, and Hawaii are Polynesians, as are the Maori, the indigenous people of New Zealand. The term “Polynesian” comes from the Greek, meaning “many islands.”
