How long must I wait if I filed for bankruptcy once before?

It depends on how you filed the first time. Under Chapter 7, eight years must have passed before you can re-file. Under Chapter 13 after a Chapter 7, you must wait four years. If you had filed a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, and wish to file again, two years must pass.
