According to the National Conference of State legislatures, 12 states increased their taxes by more than 1%, 37 made no significant changes to their states taxes, and one state actually decreased its taxes by 1%. The good news is that for the most part, states decreased the personal income tax, but increased many taxes on consumption items, like fuel and tobacco.
