Cutting Expenses

What are some easy ways to cut hundreds of dollars from my monthly communications expenses?

Cut off your cable television, or at least scale back on what premium packages you may have subscribed to. Cable television can cost upwards of $50 to $150/month, and since there is so much free media available on the Internet today, it is easily replaceable. Try cutting your home land line phone. Aside from saying good-bye to telemarketers forever, you can easily save $100/month doing without a second line. We all use cell phones, and in some families, multiple cell phones, so the need for a land line is unnecessary. Make sure you have a cell phone plan as closely matched to your usage as possible, and never go over on the number of minutes that your plan allows, as it can cost you hundreds of dollars. If this does happen, or you see yourself approaching the maximum during a billing month, you can call your provider and change the plan and ask for a credit for the overage, which they will provide, without changing the term of your agreement.
